I read the rules for the contest.

"Contest is open to legal residents of the continental U.S."

Then WHY do they call it "World's Most Beautiful Bustle Dress Contest" when me, who's from Sweden, can't enter..? Or all the wonderful victoriana-interested people in England, even?...

It might be a typo on Lisa's part, or you might have been reading the rules just for the US. It is open worldwide. That's why I posted it here, knowing there is a worldwide steampunk movement that would love a contest like this.

The first Bold section on [link] reads "COMBINED USA and INTERNATIONAL Contest Categories:"

Do you mind telling me where you read the quote above? I'll send her an email and let her know it is confusing some people. If you posted about it here, I'm sure other people have read it and just left.

The US and international are somewhat separate because some of the prizes cannot be shipped to some places in the world. For example, my custom corset offering can't be shipped to Italy because of their customs laws. If someone outside the US does win a corset, if they want it they will need to help with the shipping costs, because those are so astronomical to most of the world from the US.

If you have any questions about the contest feel free to contact Lisa directly. She's very friendly. Her site is just a little confusing to navigate, I know... :(

Thanks. I'll let her know about the confusing text. Reading that part, the rules do contradict themselves a bit. Earlier in that page it reads:

"International Guidelines:
Guidelines and Rules are to be followed the same as in the USA entries, EXCEPT International (or overseas) Prizes are to be responsible for any/all prize gift shipping charges, customs taxes (or levies) and/ or administrator fees from their country...."

There are already a couple international entries. If you are interested in participating, please don't let this confusion prevent you.

Thanks again!

There are already several entries, and the judges post comment as the contest moves along. If you like, when the time comes you can vote for your favorites to be in the finalists. :)
